I chose these specific ones and not the corresponding expensive ones from ASUS because the others force you to run them with Armoury Crate (far away and beloved).
Having said that, I will start my review.
Initially, I did not realize what the difference is between the entry-level Hammerhead X of 2020 (costing 50 euros) compared to the Hyperspeed, apart from noise cancellation. They look the same, the charging case is the same, the materials are the same, the lights are the same. A noise cancellation does not justify the 130 euro difference. The 50 euro Hammerheads also had low latency mode.
The case is made of a strange plastic, I don't even consider it average in quality, which gets greasy (from our skin's oil) easily and generally does not seem to clean after a certain point, meaning after years. It is made of materials that whatever stays on them from use... scratches forever.
The earbuds themselves have a glossy finish, think twice if you want earbuds to listen to music outside. They will most likely slip from your hands due to their material.
Software is only available on mobile (iOS, Android), they are not supported by Synapse, so any changes you want to make can only be done from your mobile device.
Battery: If you have the LEDs on, you won't even get a 3-hour session.
Of course, they charge quickly just like the case.
Touch features: Just like with the Galaxy Earbuds, it is a feature that simply is not reliable during the use of the earbuds.
You might double-tap, it may register one, and vice versa. Even if you remap, they do not behave consistently and many times when I press, for example, hold to activate Noise Cancellation, it might enter pairing mode. Many times I have accidentally done a factory reset. Generally, while touch is considered a premium feature in many things, for me, classic buttons are better in earbuds.
Connectivity: If you plug it into the dongle, you will have to remove it from the USB port if you want to connect to your phone's Bluetooth. Yes, it pairs but never lets you connect to Razer Audio, so you have no options for equalizer etc.
Because I generally buried them (but we are doing a real review here, not sponsored, we did not get them for free from Razer, Germanos..) I will mention the two positives which are also their selling points.
Sound-wise and what it sells, namely low latency and quite good clarity regarding their sound, they both do well.
The issue is that with so many negatives I mentioned above, they should cost heavily around 70 euros, and why do I say 70 euros?
Because they also give you two nice cables, one is fully useful for other uses, female type C to USB-A and of course the dongle which is Bluetooth 2.4 that has good range.
The microphone is good, I tested it briefly during a conversation on Discord (I recorded myself with a bot to hear myself) but again it does not justify the overall product.
In conclusion, you do not need to waste this money, there are other brands that offer the same features and better, at half the price. If you want to spend a little more, go for Audio Technica which is a studio quality brand.
This is the third and last time I spend money on a Razer product (I only like their keyboards), I will keep them because they are overpriced af but the job I want to do with them, I can do.

Eπέλεξα τα συγκεκριμένα και όχι τα αντίστοιχα ακριβά της ASUS διότι τα άλλα σε υποχρεώνουν να τα τρέχεις με το Armoury Crate (μακριά και αγαπημένοι)
Έχοντας πει αυτό, ξεκινάω την κριτική μου.
Αρχικά δεν αντιλήφθηκα τι διαφορά έχουν τα entry level Hammerhead Χ του 2020 (50 ευρώ στοίχιζαν) συγκριτικά με τα Hyperspeed, πέρα του noise cancelation. Εμφανισιακά είναι τα ίδια, η θήκη που φορτίζουν ίδια, τα υλικά ίδια, τα φωτάκια τους ίδια. Ενα noise cancelation δεν δικαιολογεί την διαφορά των 130 ευρώ. Και τα Hammerhead του 50ρικου είχαν low latency mode.
Η θήκη είναι ένα περίεργο πλαστικό, δεν την θεωρώ καν μέτρια ως ποιότητα, το οποίο λαδώνεται (από το λίπος του δέρματος μας) για πλάκα και γενικώς δεν φαίνεται από κάποια στιγμή και έπειτα, όταν περάσουν δηλαδή τα χρόνια, να καθαρίζεται. Είναι από τα υλικά που ότι μείνει πάνω τους από την χρήση...χαράζεται για πάντα.
Τα ίδια τα ακουστικά είναι glossy finish, σκεφτείτε το διπλά αν θέλετε earbuds για να ακούτε μουσική έξω. Θα σας φύγουν από τα χέρια λόγω του υλικού τους το πιο πιθανό.
Software στο κινητό μόνο, (ios, android) δεν υποστηρίζονται από το Synapse, οπότε ότι αλλαγή θέλετε να κάνετε, μόνο από την κινητή σας συσκευή.
Μπαταρία: Αν έχεις τα leds ανοιχτά, ούτε 3ωρο session δεν βγάζεις.
Βέβαια φορτίζουν μπαμ όπως και η θήκη.
Τοuch features: Όπως και με τα Galaxy Earbuds, είναι ένα feature που απλώς δεν είναι reliable κατά την χρήση των ακουστικών.
Θα το πατήσεις διπλή φορά, μπορεί να πιάσει την μια, και τούμπαλιν. Ακόμα και αν κάνεις remap, δεν συμπεριφέρονται σταθερά και πολλές φορές όταν πατάω πχ hold για να ενεργοποιήσω Noise Cancelation, μπορεί και να σου μπει σε pairing mode. Πολλές φορές ήδη έχω κάνει και factory reset κατά λάθος. Γενικώς ενώ σε πολλά πράγματα το touch θεωρείται premium feature, ε στα ακουστικά για μένα είναι καλύτερα τα κλασσικά κουμπάκια..
Συνδεσιμότητα: Aν τα βάλεις στο dongle θα πρέπει να το βγάλεις από την usb θύρα αν πχ θέλεις να συνδεθείς στο bt του κινητού σου. Ναι μεν κάνει pair αλλά δεν σε αφήνει ποτέ να κάνεις connect με το Razer Audio, άρα δεν έχεις επιλογές για equalizer etc.
Επειδή γενικώς τα έθαψα (κάνουμε όμως αληθινή κριτική εδώ, όχι χορηγούμενη, δεν τα πήραμε δωρεάν από την Razer, Γερμανό..) θα πω τα δυο θετικά τους που είναι και το selling point τους.
Hχητικά και αυτό που πουλάει, δηλαδή το low latency και ένα αρκετά καλό clarity όσο αφορά τον ήχο τους, τα κάνει και τα δυο άρτια.
Το θέμα είναι πως με τόσα αρνητικά που ανέφερα πιο πάνω, θα έπρεπε να στοιχίζουν βαριά ένα 70αρι, και γιατί λέω 70αρι;
Διότι σου δίνουν και δυο ωραία καλώδια, το ένα είναι full χρήσιμο και για άλλες χρήσεις, θηλυκό type C σε USB-Α και φυσικά το dongle το οποίο είναι bluetooth 2.4 που ok, έχει καλή εμβέλεια.
Το μικρόφωνο είναι καλό, το δοκίμασα ελάχιστα σε συνομιλία μου στο Discord (με ηχογράφησα με bot για να με ακούσω) αλλά και πάλι δεν δικαιολογεί την συνολική του προϊόντος.
Κλείνοντας, δεν χρειάζεται να σπαταλήσετε αυτά τα χρήματα, υπάρχουν άλλα brands που δίνουν τα ίδια features και καλύτερα, στην μισή τιμή. Αν θέλετε να δώσετε και το κάτι παραπάνω, πηγαίνετε σε Audio Technica που είναι studio quality brand.
Είναι η τρίτη και τελευταία φορά που δίνω χρήματα για Razer product (μόνο τα keyboards τους γουστάρω), θα τα κρατήσω μεν γιατί ok είναι overpriced af αλλά την δουλειά που θέλω να κάνω μαζί τους, την κάνω.
