When one questions a mystical Teaching, they do not so much question its idealistic and generous side, but rather consider it powerless, eccentric, incapable in any case of providing practical solutions. Indeed, alchemists, for example, who sought to connect the upper world with the lower world, the world of spirit with that of matter, a quest symbolized by the philosopher's stone, provided specifications, advice like this: "Take a stone from the head of a bird from the two Indies, which you will place in the warmth of a horse's belly... You will mate the eagle and the lion, after you have cleaned them, and when the eagle has devoured the lion and has become dropsical..." Even if these specifications are not as irrational as they seem, who could think today that they would have any success by putting them into practice? The students of Master Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov tried to meet the need for practical applications that is so strongly felt in spiritual life, by gathering in this volume a part of simple, accessible, yet effective exercises, which he indicated during his lectures and verified himself. Some of these methods concern daily life: nutrition, breathing, purification, relationships with nature, with people... Others touch more precisely on spiritual life: meditation, work with the solar plexus, the Hara center, the aura, the body of glory. All these methods invoke this knowledge of the Initiates whose main concern is the coming of what the Sacred Books call: "A new heaven and a new earth," meaning a change in mentalities and habits.
