The five fairy tale short stories with the French title Nouveaux contes de fées (New Fairy Tales) are the first work by Sophie de Ségur published by Aset for the bookstores opened at railway stations.
The French literary tradition is rich in this type of literature, honored by female writers. Just two names need to be mentioned, those of Marie-Catherine d’Aulnoy and Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont, cornerstones of the 17th and 18th centuries respectively. The former is known for "The Blue Bird" and the latter for "Beauty and the Beast." Ségur comes with her fairy tales to continue this tradition in the 19th century.
With these stories – short tales full of surprises and twists – opens the "Anemi" series by Librofilo & Co editions, aiming to satisfy both young and old. The fairy tales are addressed to children and not only, while the Afterword is exclusively intended for the latter. Thus, their collaboration seems imperative.
The ambition is to initiate a young audience into good literature.
