The 150 Questions for a Guerrilla is the classic manual of guerrilla warfare by General Alberto Bayo. General Bayo is perhaps the person most responsible for Fidel Castro's military success against the Batista regime, as Bayo was the one who trained Castro and his men in guerrilla tactics for six months in Mexico in 1956.

Without such training, it is highly likely that Castro's 82 men would have been wiped out shortly after their landing in Cuba on December 2, 1956. Bayo had been preparing for his role as Castro's trainer for about three decades.

He fought against Moroccan guerrillas in North Africa for several years, first as a pilot and later as a company commander in the Spanish Foreign Legion. During the Spanish Civil War, he led an unsuccessful campaign against the Balearic Islands, commanding several airfields in southern Spain, and organized a guerrilla warfare school.

After the end of the civil war, he fled and ended up first in Cuba and then in Mexico, where he helped organize revolutionary movements against the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua before becoming the mentor of Castro and Che Guevara.
