The Lindy HDMI Extender 38203 embeds digital or analogue audio from a device with a TosLink (optical) or 3.5 mm output into the HDMI signal, while simultaneously forwarding the video to a monitor or projector. It supports 4K UHD resolution of 4096 × 2160 at 60 Hz, HDMI 18G bandwidth and REC.2020 colour space passthrough for HDR content. It can be used, for example, to add alternative commentary to live broadcasts or external music to digital signage.

It supports HDCP 2.2, multichannel audio, Dolby Digital 5.1 via TosLink and analogue stereo audio via the 3.5 mm connection. HDMI High Bit Rate audio passthrough enables playback of uncompressed high-resolution audio files.
