Developed by Rankin/Bass and based on characters created by Tobin "Ted" Wolf, ThunderCats became one of the most successful animated series of the 1980s, with three seasons totaling 130 episodes. The series tells the adventures of a group of humanoid cats who survive from the planet Thundera to a new planet called Third Earth, facing various threats and their greatest enemy, the mummy-like demonic sorcerer Mumm-Ra.

Panthro is the strongest member of the team and is a master of martial arts, as well as an expert in engineering and advanced technology. Among his creations are the following: the ThunderTank, the spacecraft Feliner used for space adventures, the characters Willykit and Willycat’s boards, as well as the airborne vehicles ThunderClaw and HoverCat.

His weapon is the nun-chuck, which contains a series of concealed substances, usually gases, but generally the weapon is used in hand-to-hand combat.
