Everything you need to know to play
Each player takes a set of 12 tiles and a board. At the beginning of each round, one player rolls the die and flips the hourglass. The symbol shown on the die determines which tiles you must use to solve the puzzle on your board. You must place the tiles so that they cover exactly the white area of the board, without leaving any gaps and without any piece sticking out. The first player to complete the puzzle shouts the word Ubongo! and takes a precious gem from the round board. The remaining players continue to try until the sand in the hourglass runs out. The game lasts for 9 rounds and the winner is the player who has collected the most valuable collection of gems at the end.

It can be played by children aged 3 years and I speak from experience. There has been good research on the game regarding the tiles and the various formations they offer. However, the rules for selecting amber or emerald or other gemstones could be different in terms of being a speed and/or strategy game rather than ending up being a game of chance.
Now, as far as the quality is concerned, it is simply tragic. The older version had cardboard cards. The new version has paper cards which, if nothing else, wear out easily as shown in the picture. In no way does it justify the 25€ it costs. Also, the huge box with the 6 compartments, which are separated by poor quality cardboard, is in no way justified and obviously with a simple movement, the pieces have become tangled among themselves.

Σε καμία περίπτωση επίσης δε δικαιολογείται το τεράστιο κουτί με τους 6 χώρους οι οποίοι διαχωρίζονται από κάκιστης ποιότητας χαρτόνι και προφανώς με μια απλή μετακίνηση τα κομμάτια έχουν μπλεχτεί μεταξύ τους.

The random selection of a "stone" from the bag at the end of each round makes the game more interesting as the final score can be overturned.
The game pieces are beautiful and of high quality. Especially the dice, which instead of numbers have different designs, is a very nice touch.
The only thing that concerns me is that the paper of the puzzle cards is thinner than the pieces (which are made of cardboard), which is logical in order to fit so many, but if someone is not careful, they can get damaged or torn.

The ubongo is one of the simplest and easiest board games that can be played by someone who plays many types of board games or someone who plays very few board games.
It can be learned in 1-2 minutes literally, and you can play several rounds since you can finish a round in a short amount of time.
A positive aspect is that it can be played solo, a negative aspect for me would be that I would like it to be able to be played with more players, for example up to 6 players, not just up to 4 players.
Το ubongo είναι από τα πιο απλά και εύκολα επιτραπέζια, που μπορεί να το παίξει είτε κάποιος που παίζει πολλά είδη επιτραπέζιων είτε και κάποιος που παίζει ελάχιστα επιτραπέζια.
Μαθαίνεται σε 1-2 λεπτά κυριολεκτικά και μπορεί να παίζεις αρκετές παρτίδες αφού έτσι και αλλιώς μέσα σε λίγη ώρα έχεις τελειώσει την παρτίδα.
Θετικό είναι ότι μπορεί να παιχθεί και σόλο, αρνητικό για εμένα θα ήθελα να μπορούσε να παιχθεί και με περισσότερα άτομα πχ ως 6 παίκτες όχι μόνο μέχρι 4 παίκτες.

Τα υπόλοιπα νομίζω είναι απλά θέμα του πως θα σου κάτσει εκείνη τη στιγμή το σχήμα και το λύσεις αμέσως αλλιώς μπορεί να μη το βρίσκεις με τίποτα..

A glance at the game's manual and it becomes apparent the creators' desperate attempt to find 2-3 rules to justify calling it a game, a simple competition of "I solved my tetris-puzzle first".
You can call it a puzzle. You can't call it a board game. It's not even strategic, because the idea is drowned in laughter.
It might make sense for children. You can have them play with the colorful gems and learn colors. Or they can learn the path the gems will follow if they swallow them. Simply tragic.

The ubongo is one of the simplest and easiest board games that can be played by someone who plays many types of board games or someone who plays very few board games.
It can be learned in 1-2 minutes literally, and you can play several rounds since you can finish a round in a short amount of time.
A positive aspect is that it can be played solo, a negative aspect for me would be that I would like it to be able to be played with more players, for example up to 6 players, not just up to 4 players.
Το ubongo είναι από τα πιο απλά και εύκολα επιτραπέζια, που μπορεί να το παίξει είτε κάποιος που παίζει πολλά είδη επιτραπέζιων είτε και κάποιος που παίζει ελάχιστα επιτραπέζια.
Μαθαίνεται σε 1-2 λεπτά κυριολεκτικά και μπορεί να παίζεις αρκετές παρτίδες αφού έτσι και αλλιώς μέσα σε λίγη ώρα έχεις τελειώσει την παρτίδα.
Θετικό είναι ότι μπορεί να παιχθεί και σόλο, αρνητικό για εμένα θα ήθελα να μπορούσε να παιχθεί και με περισσότερα άτομα πχ ως 6 παίκτες όχι μόνο μέχρι 4 παίκτες.
Very fast game, relatively easy and not so entertaining. It is a good solution for those who do not want to play for 1 hour continuously like some other board games.
Πολυ γρηγορο παιχνίδι, σχετικα εύκολο και όχι τοσο διασκεδαστικό. Ειναι μια καλη λυση για οποιον δε θελει να παιζει 1 ωρα συνεχόμενα σαν μερικά άλλα επιτραπέζια.

Καταπληκτικό και πολύ διασκεδαστικό παιχνίδι και για μικρούς αλλά και για μεγάλους. Το να κερδίσεις στο παιχνίδι είναι και λίγο θέμα τύχης εκτός από να φτιάξεις το παζλ με τα αντίστοιχα κομμάτια στο χρόνο μέσα θέλει, πρέπει και να μαζέψεις τις πέτρες με τους πιο υψηλούς πόντους. Οπότε και αυτοί που δεν τα καταφέρνουν και πολύ με τα παζλ έχουν ελπίδες να κερδίσουν αν είναι τυχεροί. Εξασκεί πολύ το μυαλό.

Nice and enjoyable game to pass the time. It has a small strategic element in choosing which diamonds to pick, but that's about it. The rest is just a matter of how the shape fits and solving it immediately, otherwise you might not find it at all.
For a family, it's perfect for spending a relaxed afternoon. Overall, it's great. 4 stars!
Ωραίο και ευχάριστο παιχνίδι για να περνάς πιο πολύ την ώρα σου. Έχει ένα πολύ μικρό μέρος στρατηγικής σχετικά με το ποια διαμαντακια θα διαλέξεις αλλά μέχρι εκεί. Τα υπόλοιπα νομίζω είναι απλά θέμα του πως θα σου κάτσει εκείνη τη στιγμή το σχήμα και το λύσεις αμέσως αλλιώς μπορεί να μη το βρίσκεις με τίποτα..
Για οικογένεια είναι ότι πρέπει για να περάσεις κανα χαλαρό απογευματάκι.. γενικά μια χαρά. 4 stars !!!
A glance at the game's manual and it becomes apparent the creators' desperate attempt to find 2-3 rules to justify calling it a game, a simple competition of "I solved my tetris-puzzle first".
You can call it a puzzle. You can't call it a board game. It's not even strategic, because the idea is drowned in laughter.
It might make sense for children. You can have them play with the colorful gems and learn colors. Or they can learn the path the gems will follow if they swallow them. Simply tragic.
Μια ματιά στο εγχειρίδιο του παιχνιδιού και γίνεται πασιφανής η κραυγαλέα προσπάθεια των δημιουργών να βρουν 2-3 κανόνες για να δικαιολογήσουν σαν παιχνίδι ένα απλό διαγωνισμό "εγώ έλυσα πρώτος το tetris-puzzle μου".
Παζλ το λες. Επιτραπέζιο δεν το λες. Στρατηγικής και να θες δεν μπορείς να το πεις γιατί στην ιδέα πνίγεσαι από τα γέλια.
Για παιδάκια μπορεί να έχει κάποιο νόημα. Μπορείς να τα βάλεις να παίξουν με τα χρωματιστά διαμαντάκια και να μάθουν τα χρώματα. Ή να μάθουν την πορεία που θα ακολουθήσουν τα διαμαντάκια αν τα καταπιούν. Απλά τραγικό.
It is also suitable for younger children. We played during the holidays with 2 adults, a 12-year-old child, and a 5-year-old child. We all liked it very much! Very nice board game. The child can also play alone. One of our best purchases!!!

It can be played by children aged 3 years and I speak from experience. There has been good research on the game regarding the tiles and the various formations they offer. However, the rules for selecting amber or emerald or other gemstones could be different in terms of being a speed and/or strategy game rather than ending up being a game of chance.
Now, as far as the quality is concerned, it is simply tragic. The older version had cardboard cards. The new version has paper cards which, if nothing else, wear out easily as shown in the picture. In no way does it justify the 25€ it costs. Also, the huge box with the 6 compartments, which are separated by poor quality cardboard, is in no way justified and obviously with a simple movement, the pieces have become tangled among themselves.

Έχει γίνει καλή μελέτη στο παιχνίδι όσον αφορά τα πλακίδια και τους διάφορους σχηματισμούς που αυτά προσφέρουν. Ωστόσο οι κανόνες επιλογής κεχριμπαριού ή σμαραγδιού ή των άλλων πολιτικών λίθων θα μπορούσαν να είναι διαφορετικοί από την άποψη να είναι ένα παιχνίδι ταχύτητας ή/και στρατηγικής και να μην καταλήγει να είναι ένα παιχνίδι τύχης.
Τώρα όσον αφορά την ποιότητα είναι απλά τραγική. Η πιο παλιά έκδοση είχε κάρτες από χαρτόνι. Η νέα έκδοση έχει κάρτες από χαρτί οι οποίες αν μη τι άλλο φθείρονται πανεύκολα όπως φαίνεται στην εικόνα. Σε καμία περίπτωση δε δικαιολογούνται τα 25€ ευρώ που κοστίζει. Σε καμία περίπτωση επίσης δε δικαιολογείται το τεράστιο κουτί με τους 6 χώρους οι οποίοι διαχωρίζονται από κάκιστης ποιότητας χαρτόνι και προφανώς με μια απλή μετακίνηση τα κομμάτια έχουν μπλεχτεί μεταξύ τους.
Pleasant and fast game, with very simple rules. Suitable for all ages, even for children under 8 years old (we play it with 5-year-old children).
It helps a lot in developing critical thinking, fine motor skills, and puzzle-solving abilities.
There are enough cards so that players cannot easily learn the puzzles, and the two difficulty levels offer alternatives for beginners and advanced players.
The random selection of a "stone" from the bag at the end of each round makes the game more interesting as the final score can be overturned.
The game pieces are beautiful and of high quality. Especially the dice, which instead of numbers have different designs, is a very nice touch.
The only thing that concerns me is that the paper of the puzzle cards is thinner than the pieces (which are made of cardboard), which is logical in order to fit so many, but if someone is not careful, they can get damaged or torn.
Ευχάριστο και γρήγορο παιχνίδι, με πολύ απλούς κανόνες. Κατάλληλο για όλες τις ηλικίες, ακόμα και για παιδιά κάτω των 8 ετών (εμείς το παίζουμε με παιδιά 5 ετών).
Βοηθάει πολύ στην ανάπτυξη κριτικής σκέψης, της λεπτής κινητικότητας και της ικανότητας επίλυσης γρίφων.
Οι κάρτες είναι αρκετές, ώστε να μην μπορούν οι παίκτες να μάθουν εύκολα τους γρίφους και τα δύο επίπεδα δυσκολίας προσφέρουν εναλλακτικές για αρχάριους και προχωρημένους παίκτες.
Η τυχαία επιλογή "λίθου" από το σακουλάκι στο τέλος κάθε γύρου κάνει το παιχνίδι πιο ενδιαφέρον καθώς μπορεί να ανατραπεί η τελική βαθμολογία.
Τα κομμάτια του παιχνιδιού είναι όμορφα και ποιοτικά. Ειδικά το ζάρι, που αντί για αριθμούς έχει διάφορα σχέδια, είναι μία πολύ καλή πινελιά.
Το μόνο που με ανησυχεί είναι ότι το χαρτί των καρτών με τους γρίφους είναι πιο λεπτό από τα κομμάτια (τα οποία είναι από χαρτόνι), πράγμα λογικό, ώστε να χωρέσουν τόσες πολλές, αλλά αν κάποιος δεν είναι προσεκτικός μπορεί να φθαρούν ή να σκιστούν.
