Description

A successful coral aquarium depends on the proper maintenance of water parameters, which are key to a stable coral environment. All the elements found in natural seawater play a role in providing optimal water parameters, but some are more important than others. These elements, which form the foundation of the coral environment, include the three main elements: Calcium (Ca), Magnesium (Mg), and Carbonates (CO3).

All three have a significant impact on the water chemistry (pH stability, Alkalinity, ionic strength) and many of the biological processes of corals (skeleton formation, ion exchange, photosynthesis). The foundational elements complement each other in forming the coral skeleton. If they are not properly balanced, one of the elements will quickly limit the healthy growth of corals.

Reef Foundation A: Contains Calcium, Strontium, and Barium in ratios found in coral skeletons. Concentration: 1ml will raise the Ca level by 2ppm in 100 liters (25 gallons).
