The essential oil of oregano is distilled from the flowers and leaves of the oregano plant (origanum hirtum) through the process of steam distillation. It has two main components, carvacrol and thymol, two phenols with significant antioxidant properties.
Safe use:
- Do not use essential oils on the body.
- Use a carrier oil such as almond oil or jojoba oil.
- Add in a ratio of 10ml (carrier oil) to 5 drops of essential oil.
- Avoid use by pregnant women and children under 5 years old.
- Individuals with heart conditions and hypertension should use with caution and medical advice.
- Avoid sun exposure for 12 hours after using citrus essential oil.
Store in a cool, dry place. Keep out of reach of children.
