The sturdy plastic construction of the tanks results in them not corroding. They are strong, yet lightweight and do not break or deteriorate. Polyethylene is used to avoid rust and has a longer lifespan compared to metal tanks.

According to international standards, they are used for collecting and storing fuels. All contain an 8mm outlet with a filter and a vented cap with a seal. Codes 44804 and 44805 also include a fuel gauge.
