    It is small, lightweight, sharp, ultra-wide

    With 1 stop down, it is extremely sharp across the frame, it doesn't have any significant optical disadvantage, and it can accept filters (with wider lenses, this is difficult to... impractical)

    If lenses like 7-14 are expensive, the 9-18 is the best choice for ultra-wide zoom
