Attention. If the watch is not purchased from an official Greek store (GR), you need to call Samsung to provide the IMEI to find out the first destination country. The country should be within the EU to have warranty and have the same LTE characteristics as Greece (good luck with that). Mine was for Vietnam as the first country, so I didn't have voice calls and warranty from Samsung, no. I had a decent watch that sent SMS and all the other good things it does, including the Bluetooth version. I returned it mainly because of the lack of warranty (read until the end though - maybe I didn't do well!).
P.S.: It worked! I paid a lot for information, so I will share it to save you the expenses: you need wifi calling for Cosmote. Ask the provider for that (it's free for a German).
And let me tell you about my experience. So, out of stubbornness, I bought it again from Samsung Hellas (eshop) at the inflated price of €370 (€140 more than the store here) and I paid another €5 to Cosmote for esim. The result was the same! I called Cosmote, waited for 60 minutes and hung up... I called Samsung and they made some settings through mobile remote control... Nothing. They suggested I try Vodafone because their website mentions that they support it. I paid €35 for a new SIM card and conversion to esim and... even worse, it doesn't even connect to the Vodafone GR network, not even SMS. I found a small German and tried to get some new information, and a guy wearing the watch5 pro lte told me that it needs wifi calling. He activated it, it kicked me out of that network automatically, the watch restarted and everything was fine!.. Conclusions:
1. Cosmote's customer service didn't find anything wrong and didn't know enough about the issues, in other words, the staff is not high-tech, they only know the basics.
2. Cosmote's website is inaccurate in the list of supported esim devices (you can find them all together if you google it), it doesn't include the Watch6 but it actually supports it. Of course, their eshop says that it supports it.
3. Vodafone has the device on their list, but it didn't work right away. I will come back if I deal with it and fix it.
4. Samsung suggested that I buy a second sim based on the above, and I wasted €35, which means they don't know either. Maybe I will call them for an update.
5. The Vietnamese watch might have worked just fine, I wish I had encountered a suitable employee back then, even without warranty. I would have saved €243. Now I paid a total of €370+€10+€35=€415.
6. Wifi calling is a technology that allows you to make calls through... wifi. The fact that it blocks the watch is a bug of Cosmote.
As a 4G device: I diverted calls from my mobile to the watch (either with *21*number# and #21# to cancel, or through the phone app settings), I added a VISA debit card to gwallet, connected the Xiaomi Basic Earbuds worth €20 via Bluetooth, left my mobile at home and went for coffee. I started with 95% battery, used Google Maps once to find a place, made two NFC payments, sent 2 SMS, talked on 4G with the lice for 30 minutes, and returned home after 7 hours with 24% battery remaining.
Προσοχή. Αν το ρολόι δεν ειναι αγορασμένο από επίσημο ελληνικό κατάστημα (GR), πρεπει να καλέσετε την Samsung να δώσετε το ΙΜΕΙ για να μάθετε πρώτη χώρα προορισμού. Θα πρεπει η χώρα να βρίσκεται εντος EE για να έχεις εγγύηση και να έχει ίδια LTE χαρακτηριστικά με Ελλάδα (καλή τύχη σε αυτό). Το δικό μου ήταν για Βιετναμ ως πρωτη χώρα, οποτε δεν ειχα φωνητική κλήση και εγγύηση απο Samsung όχι. Είχα ενα αξιολογο ρολογακι που εστελνε SMS και όλα τα αλλα καλα που κάνει και η Bluetooth έκδοση. Το επέστρεψα κυρίως λόγω της μη εγγύησης (διάβασε μέχρι τέλους όμως - ίσως δεν έκανα καλά!).
Υ.Γ.: έπαιξε! Πλήρωσα ακριβά μια πληροφορία, οποτε θα την μοιραστώ να γλιτώσετε εσείς τα εξοδα: χρειάζεται wifi calling για cosmote. Αυτό να ζητήσετε από τον πάροχο (σε εναν Γερμανό γίνεται δωρεάν).
Και να πω την εμπειρία μου. Λοιπόν, απο πείσμα το αγόρασα πάλι από την Samsung Hellas (eshop) στην φουσκωμένη τιμή των 370€ (140€ παραπάνω απο το μαγαζι εδώ) και εδωσα πάλι 5€ στη Cosmote για esim. Το αποτέλεσμα ήταν το ίδιο! Καλώ cosmote, περιμενω 60' αναμονή και το κλείνω... Καλώ την Samsung και κάνει κάτι ρυθμίσεις με τηλεχειρισμό μέσω κινητού... Τίποτα. Μου προτείνει να δοκιμάσω Vodafone διότι στην ιστοσελίδα τους αναφέρει οτι το υποστηρίζουν. Δίνω 35€ για νέα CU και μετατροπή σε esim και... ακόμη χειρότερα, δεν μπαίνει καν στο Vodafone GR δίκτυο, ουτε καν SMS. Βρίσκω έναν μικρό Γερμανό και μπαίνω μπας και μου πουν τίποτα καινούριο και μου λέει ένας τσάκαλος που φορούσε το watch5 pro lte, ότι θέλει wifi call. Το ενεργοποιεί, με πετάει απο το δίκτυο αυτόματα, επανεκίνηση το ρολοι και όλα καλά!.. Συμπεράσματα:
1. η εξυπηρέτηση της Cosmote δεν έβρισκε κάτι στραβό και ούτε γνώριζε επαρκώς για τα θέματα της, κοινώς το προσωπικό δεν είναι high-tech, γνωρίζουν τα βασικά.
2. η ιστοσελίδα της Cosmote είναι ανακριβής στη λίστα των υποστηριζόμενων συσκευων esim (τις εχει συγκεντρωτικά αν γκουγκλάρεις), δεν εμπεριέχει το Watch6 αλλά τελικά το υποστηρίζει. Βεβαια στο eshop τους λέει οτι την υποστηρίζει.
3. η vodafone έχει τη συσκευή στη λίστα τους, αλλά δεν έπαιξε με τη μία. θα επανέλθω αν ασχολήθω και τη φτιάξω.
4. η Samsung μου πρότεινε να αγοράσω 2η sim βαση των παραπάνω και τζάμπα έδωσα 35€ που σημαίνει πως ούτε αυτή γνωρίζει. ίσως τους καλέσω για ενημέρωση.
5. το βιετναμεζικο ρολογακι ίσως και να έπαιζε μια χαρά, μακάρι να είχα πέσει σε κατάλληλο υπάλληλο τότε και ας μην είχε εγγύηση. Θα την είχα βγάλει με 243€. Τώρα έδωσα σύνολο 370+10+35=415€.
6. το wifi calling ειναι μια τεχνολογια που σου επιτρεπει κλησεις μεσω...wifi. Το ότι μπλοκάρει το watch ειναι bug της cosmote.
Σαν συσκευή 4G: έκανα εκτροπή κλήσεων από το κινητό στο ρολόι (είτε με *21*νουμερο# και #21# για ακυρωση, ειτε μεσα απο τις ρυθμισεις της εφαρμογης τηλεφώνου), πρόσθεσα μια VISA χρεωστική στο gwallet, συνέδεσα με bluetooth τα Xiaomi Basic Earbuds των 20€, παράτησα το κινητό σπίτι και πήγα για καφέ. Ξεκίνησα με 95% μπαταρία, έβαλα google maps μια φορά να βρω ένα μέρος, πλήρωσα με NFC 2 φορές, έστειλα 2 SMS, μίλησα 4G με τις ψείρες για 30 λεπτά και γύρισα σπίτι μετά από 7 ώρες και ήταν στο 24%.
