Amsterdam gesso helps you create the perfect base for your artwork on almost any surface. It provides an absorbent surface once dry, making it the perfect base not only for acrylic paint but also for oil paint.

Gesso can be thinned with water and applied in either thin layers or a thick coat to create more texture. This white gesso can be used to create the perfect background for your work. Mix it with your favorite acrylic color to create lighter pastel shades or use it alone for a white base.

  • Available in clear, white, and black
  • Provides excellent adhesion for acrylics and oil paints
  • Suitable for absorbent surfaces that are free from dust and grease, such as canvas (linen, cotton, etc.), wood, plywood, cardboard, and paper
  • Suitable as a primer for murals on (alkaline) surfaces such as concrete
