It has 3 compartments with zippers and 2 side pockets for a bottle or umbrella. Inside the 3 compartments, there are some pockets, although not many. I would say it is on the verge of being sufficient. In the laptop compartment, there is a pocket for the laptop, but there is no other pocket. It does not have any other external pocket with a zipper. What appears in the photos as a zipper is actually a ring and not a pocket. I am not sure if the 27-liter capacity is with the expansion open or closed. In any case, it has enough space and even with the expansion open, it looks elegant. In conclusion, if someone is okay with the number of compartments, it is a bag that they will enjoy. It is pleasing to look at! (I returned it because I wanted at least one more external pocket with a zipper.)
