Review this product
  • This review is about the lead size: 0.5 mm

Comfortable, the best pencil in its category! Surely there are more expensive ones but none of them are made entirely of brass, none have such a quality mechanism, none have even gaskets to prevent the feed tube and button from rattling, none have this balance in the hand, which makes it feel much lighter than it actually is.
It is more comfortable than I expected and this is also due to the flawless finish with rounded corners and the balance I mentioned earlier. Even though the leads it comes with are decent, when I started using it with Pentel Aim Stein 2B it really took off. The click noise is also superior to all the pencils I own, and I have many that cost two and three times as much. Simple, as functional as it gets, comfortable, and gives you a unique sense of luxury that surprises you and makes you want to use it all the time. Although clearly made for writing, it handles a quick sketch just fine, because the octagonal shape, like classic hexagons, offers flexibility in use. It is definitely not suitable for long hours of drawing.
On the negative side: Unfortunately, if you want a clip, it is sold separately. Be careful not to accidentally order a clip meant for other Kaweco models like their fountain pens, because in the photos they look identical! Don't expect any other negatives, you get what you pay for and in this case, you get even more. YSTUDIO, for example, has none of the positives I mentioned, costs twice as much, and is made in China. The Kaweco is made in Germany and the mechanism is a special order from Japan. It's like a Mercedes with a Lexus engine.
