This is an excellent tape from the company Angelus that is flexible enough to bend around the corners of the shoe and sticks well enough for you to mask difficult surfaces such as side soles and fabric parts.
It creates a strong barrier so that the paint does not bleed under the tape. Do not apply it over freshly painted surfaces as it may lift the paint.
Do not use it on suede.
