Description

Description

Step into full-frame photography and video and make your creative ambitions a reality. Capture clear shots in all conditions with the Dual Pixel CMOS AF II focusing system. The 24.2 MP sensor allows you to capture every detail. Easily share your creations via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Take it with you on every adventure, as this full-frame mirrorless camera weighs just 461g with card and battery.

Smart Auto Focus

Static images or video: keep your subjects in excellent focus as they move within the frame. Inside the EOS R8 is the renowned Dual Pixel CMOS AF II focusing system. It recognizes and tracks different subjects and is accurate even in very low light conditions – down to -6.5EV.

Photograph with a shallower depth of field

Ideal for powerful portraits. The larger sensor is accompanied by a shallower depth of field and greater dynamic range. Make your subject stand out with a smooth out-of-focus background, with beautiful bokeh. Capture more details in both bright and dark areas.

Capture Wider Shots

Transform the way you see the landscape and get closer for immersive documentary images.

Professional Color Grading

Use the low-contrast Canon Log 3 color profile of the EOS R8 for more options when grading colors. These shots retain details in both brightly lit areas and dark shadows, thanks to the camera's large dynamic range.

Full Frame Depth of Field

Compare the blurred background of the EOS R8 with that of an APS-C camera. Subjects with exceptional sharpness are better highlighted with a smooth, defocused background.

Full Frame Viewing Angle

See how a 15mm lens looks on the full-frame EOS R8, compared to an EOS camera with a smaller APS-C sensor. Any focal length offers a 1.6x wider field of view.

Discover the filmmaker within you

Through oversampling from 6K sensor data, the EOS R8 produces high-quality 4K video footage at frame rates up to 60p. If you are a beginner in video, you will love the simple way the camera allows you to get creative with different frame rates and resolutions. You will appreciate its advanced features as you transform into a successful filmmaker.

The subtle nuances of slow motion

Add emotions to motion with Full HD shooting at up to 180p. When viewed at normal playback speeds, subjects appear in stunning slow motion, revealing the details hidden in their movement.

Full-frame sensor with 24.2 megapixels

Ideal balance of detail, speed, and performance in low light conditions, whether you are taking photos or videos.

Amazing autofocus for still images and videos

Regardless of the shooting method, the EOS R8 detects and tracks moving subjects located at the edges of the frame.11 Even if the main subject is briefly hidden, the camera calculates its movement and refocuses on it as soon as it reappears.

Easy Connectivity

Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth ensure the EOS R8 connects with smart devices, Wi-Fi networks, and laptops. Share photos and movies with friends and followers and remotely control the camera.

This review is about the bundle: Kit (RF 24-50mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM)

Amazing camera! Perfect performance in professional work.
Only extra batteries are needed. But if it is not used for many hours, they last.

This review is about the bundle: Body

Coming from a Canon RP (which was already enough for my needs as an amateur) and having gotten used to its size and design, I decided after exactly 4 years to upgrade to the Canon R8, which has exactly the same chassis, but with a sensor and processor from the R6ii. It's still the first few days but I'm already very satisfied. Excellent image and video quality, incredible autofocus, EVF and screen—always compared to the RP—seem fantastic to me. Very good noise management and certainly very satisfactory dynamic range. Unless something unexpected happens, I will keep this not for 4, but for 14 years. The package with the extra battery at €1050 is more than fair. The photos I have uploaded are with the EF 85mm f1.8, of course with Canon's adapter.

    Amazing camera, great shop.
Replaced my old EOS M50—truly a leap to remember. Battery is not great, but an extra battery or two and you're golden.

This review is about the bundle: Body

An "affordable", lightweight and compact full frame mirrorless camera, with the sensor of the Canon R6 II. Its drawbacks (and I am referring to professional use) are the battery and the lack of a slot for a second memory card. I should also note that it does not have in-body stabilization, so you rely on the lens stabilization (if it has one, of course). All of the above I was aware of before purchasing it, but I chose it because of its price and because in the type of photography I am involved in (advertising - product), the negatives I mentioned do not concern me. Other than that, it lacks nothing and its performance is excellent under any condition I have tested it in, as well as in low light conditions where even with ISO values above 10,000, the noise remains at very satisfactory levels.

This review is about the bundle: Kit (RF 24-50mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM)

I have had it for about 1.5 weeks now. The camera is excellent. The build quality is very good. Of course, as an amateur, it takes a little time to learn the menu and what settings are best for the given situation. I haven't learned it very well yet, and I managed to take the following photos (with the lens included in the box). I will return in 3-4 months to update on any negatives (if I manage to find any)
