  • Pros:

You tighten it as much as you want
You don’t need 15 different clamps (more on that in the cons, maybe it’s worth it after all)

    Cons:

On its own, it changes hardness with use (or lack thereof), due to its tendency to want to release the force from the spring and gradually unscrews itself.

It is difficult to adjust. It’s not just a matter of "tighten or loosen." It has two screws. And each one plays its role. One determines how open the handle is from the fixed handle. The other determines how tight the spring is. But one affects the other because as soon as you tighten the inner one (spring), you end up having to loosen the outer one (handle) because one tightens the other and the handle gets tighter. But then the spring loosens again when you loosen the handle.

Tightening the spring each time ends up taking a couple of minutes.

So you get this clamp for “comfort” so you don’t have to have 15 clamps, and you end up with one that is not particularly functional or just annoying in long-term use.

  • The only negative is that it doesn't show anywhere how much power is needed when adjusting, but maybe that's a positive too. You just gradually increase the power according to your needs and you are happy when you find the ideal spot. It works perfectly. It makes a little noise but I lubricated it once and it didn't make any noise again. Overall, I am very satisfied.

It is a very nice and durable construction, obviously in terms of material there is no issue of wear although it hasn't fallen from any crazy height. In relation to training, it is very good and the only one I found with such a weight range. It will definitely pay for itself. Of course, the grooves for the fingers won’t fit all hands equally, nor does it fit perfectly for me but I overlook that. Unfortunately, it doesn’t indicate with numbers what weight the disc is at any given moment so you can only guess what stage you are in… In terms of maintenance, depending on the frequency of use, it requires some kind of lubrication on the connections at the front from the handle and on the spring, otherwise it gets stuck and doesn’t close well; I use WD-40. This maintenance is a small disadvantage compared to the classic fixed grips, otherwise the positives are as described, overall I would recommend it.
