Description & Specifications

The traditional strategy assumes stability and predictability. Today's world is better characterized by turbulence, uncertainty, innovation, and ambiguity - conditions that contribute to disruptive changes and lead to the search for new ways of coping.

This book aims to become the leading guide on how to conduct scenario planning to support strategy and public policy. The authors are three experts in the field who present the Oxford Scenario Planning Approach (OSPA). The approach is both intellectually rigorous and practical. Methodological choices and theoretical aspects in practice are analyzed in reference to the relevant literature and are grounded in 6 case studies in which the authors have participated.

The book offers many contributions to the field, focusing on how learning through scenario planning is supported by reframing and re-visioning; how this iterative process can be integrated into corporate or governmental environments, and how it helps participants succeed in today's world.

It is written in an accessible style and will be a useful introductory volume as well as a helpful guide for the more experienced professional and scenario planning scholar.
