The TE 123 cash counter checks euro banknotes for signs of counterfeiting using ultraviolet and infrared rays and magnetic features. Banknotes can be inserted in any orientation. Suspect notes are ejected from the front, while genuine notes can be ejected from either the front or the back, as selected. The large LED display shows the quantity by denomination, the total quantity and the total value of the banknotes checked.
The device opens for cleaning the interior and sensors, and its software can be updated via a USB port. It supports updates for future euro banknote versions and authenticity checks.
