A colorful collection of pieces for the enigmatic viewer Scott Walker from THE WIRE. Scott Walker has traveled from teenage idol to the boundaries of music. From "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Any More" which reached No. 1, to the recordings of meat being hit in his latest album, THE DRIFT, it seems he has acquired a passionate and devoted fan base. Throughout his career, his impeccable critical reputation as a serious and uncompromising musician has not been disputed. The recent film, 30TH CENTURY MAN, had a series of stars praising Walker: including David Bowie, Damon Albarn, Jarvis Cocker, Radiohead, Johnny Marr, and Sting. However, despite 40 years of music, there has not been a serious book about Scott Walker. This collection, compiled by Rob Young of THE WIRE magazine, includes a handful of already published articles and new offerings, mainly drawn from the sphere of THE WIRE's writers, including Ian Penman, Chris Bohn, and Rob Young.
