I am impressed by how such a good shoe and new model has so many discounts. Is it because the other models from Asics (Nimbus 25, Novablast 3, Kayano 30) are more popular? I tried it first along with the aforementioned Asics models, the GT2000, Nike Pegasus 40, Nike Vomero 16, Saucony Ride 16, and On Cloudsurfer 7 (the latter out of curiosity, it's awesome but not as stable). Basically, I was looking for a neutral to stable shoe that has a different geometry from my other pair, the Puma Deviate Nitro 2 (my pace is usually around 4:45-5:45 minutes/km, by the way).
When I tried it after the Nimbus, Novablast, and Cloudsurfer, it felt clearly "harder". But I didn't want maximum softness because I wanted some stability as well. The GT2000 was harder, the Ride 16 was about the same (maybe slightly harder but also slightly more responsive), and the Nike shoes felt clearly harder and generally less comfortable. Everything is relative, of course. When I got the Pegasus 40 months ago (which I use for walking), they felt very comfortable (and they are). Now that I'm using the Cumulus (and I've forgotten the feeling of the Nimbus), they seem incredibly comfortable and cushioned (and stable). So much so that I also use them for walking (as long as they're still clean!). It's a perfect feeling for walking if you don't mind the bulk, and I also think the color (beige/white) is very nice.
In running, I have done about 50 km so far and I haven't been disappointed at all. Whether for easy running or fast (but not sprinting), it feels very good, although a bit bulky (but you get used to it because it's very lightweight for its bulk). It weighs exactly the same as the Deviate Nitro 2, even though it is much bulkier (but the Deviate also has the plate). It doesn't give you the "professional" feeling of the Puma shoes (which are like racing shoes, with a great fit on the upper and a responsive sole), but it's a different type of shoe. The Cumulus is a "luxury" everyday training (and walking) shoe. At the prices it is now, around 100 euros, it is perhaps the best purchase and I highly recommend it.

Το δοκίμασα πρώτα μαζί με τα προαναφερθέντα της Asics, το GT2000, Nike Pegasus 40, Nike Vomero 16, Saucony Ride 16 και On Cloudsurfer 7 (το τελευταίο από περιέργεια, φοβερό αλλά όχι τόσο σταθερό). Βασικά έψαχνα για παπούτσι ουδέτερο προς σταθερό που να έχει διαφορετική γεωμετρία από τα Puma Deviate Nitro 2 που είναι το άλλο μου ζευγάρι (οι ρυθμοί μου είναι συνήθως 4:45-5:45 λεπτά/χλμ περεπιπτόντως).
Οταν το δοκίμασα μετά από Nimbus, Novablast και Cloudsurfer, μου φάνηκε ξεκάθαρα πιο "σκληρό". Αλλά δεν ήθελα μέγιστη μαλακότητα γιατί ήθελα και κάποια σταθερότητα. Το GT2000 ήταν πιο σκληρό, το Ride 16 περίπου το ίδο (ίσως λίγο πιο σκληρό αλλά και λίγο πιο προωθητικό) και τα Nike μου φάνηκαν σαφώς πιο σκληρά και τα δύο και γενικά λιγότερο άνετα. Ολα είναι σχετικά βέβαια. Οταν πριν από μήνες πήρα τα Pegasus 40 (που χρησιμοποιώ για περπάτημα), μου είχαν φανεί πολύ άνετα (και είναι). Τώρα που χρησιμοποιώ τα Cumulus (και έχω ξεχάσει την αίσθηση των Nimbus), μου φαίνονται φοβερά άνετα και μαλακά (και σταθερά). Τόσο που τα χρησιμοποιώ και για περπάτημα (όσο είναι ακόμα καθαρά!). Είναι τέλεια αίσθηση για περπάτημα αν δεν σας ενοχλεί ο όγκος και σε αυτό το χρώμα (μπέζ/άσπρο) είναι πολύ ωραία επίσης νομίζω.
Στο τρέξιμο έχω κάνει περίπου 50 χμ ως τώρα και δεν έχω απογοητευθεί καθόλου. Είτε για χαλαρό τρέξιμο, είτε για γρήγορο (αλλά όχι σπρίντς), το νοιώθω πολύ καλό αν και λίγο ογκώδες (αλλά το συνηθίζεις γιατί είναι πολύ ελαφρύ για τον όγκο του). Ζυγίζει ακριβώς το ίδιο με τo Deviate Nitro 2, παρότι είναι πολύ πιο ογκώδες (αλλά το Deviate έχει και το plate). Δε σου δίνει την "επαγγελματική" αίσθηση των Puma (που είναι σαν παπούτσια αγώνα, με φοβερή εφαρμογή το πάνω μέρος και προωθητική σόλα), αλλά είναι διαφορετικό είδος παπουτσιού. Το Cumulus είναι παπούτσι "πολυτελείας" καθημερινής προπόνησης (και περπατήματος). Στις τιμές που είναι τώρα κοντά στα 100 ευρώ, είναι ίσως η καλύτερη αγορά και το συνιστώ ανεπιφύλακτα.
