Blasphemous 2 for Xbox Series X continues the story of The Penitent One after the events of the first game's free Wounds of Eventide DLC. Awakening in an unfamiliar land, the hero explores a nonlinear world filled with gothic landscapes, traps and secrets, while facing enemies and challenging bosses.

Combat is based on new weapons with different moves, executions and attack combos. There are also new game modes and the ability to customize and upgrade core skills. During exploration, some characters offer help, while others assign quests that lead to forgotten items.
