Description

The true story of 2-year-old Anna, who was abandoned by her biological parents and left alone in a neglected orphanage.

Elaine and Ian had traveled halfway around the world to adopt little Anna. She was so wanted, loved, and cared for. So why was she in foster care and living with me? It made no sense.

Until I learned what had happened... Two years stuck in their cribs, dressed only in diapers and worn-out t-shirts, the children were imprisoned. Their big eyes stared vacantly from faces that appeared emaciated. Some were obviously disabled, others not, but all were very poorly nourished. Flies circled the broken ceiling fans and buzzed against the meshes covering the windows. The only toys were a few balls and blocks, but no child played with them. The silence was deafening and unnatural. Not one of the approximately thirty toddlers cried, let alone spoke.
