"Gato’s head snapped back… We could make out the shots of several 9mms, a couple of 38s and one or two 45s. I hurled myself through the doorway and into the room. I didn’t look back."

Sentenced to 12 years in one of the most dangerous correctional systems in the world, Pieter Tritton was found in an Ecuadorian hotel with 8 kilos of cocaine, neither being a mule nor a swindler. His life had to adapt quickly, as any mistake could lead to death.

This is his personal testimony of what it is like to live in a place worse than hell and come out a changed man.
