Description

Matt wears a black suit every day. No, he doesn't do it because his mom died - although that did happen and it's hard. But he wears it for his job at the local funeral parlor, which pays much better than Cluck Bucket, and he needs the income because his dad can't cope with the obligations (or anything, actually) on his own. While his dad tries to procure bottles of whiskey, Matt makes fifteen dollars an hour. Not bad. But everything else? Not good. Then Matt meets Lovey. Crazy name, and she's been through crazier things than he can imagine. Yet, Lovey never cries. She’s tough. Really tough. Tough in the way Matt wishes he could be. Maybe that's why he's drawn to her and definitely why he can't let her go. Because there's nothing more hopeful than finding someone who understands your loneliness - and who might just help you make it go away.
