The Ladybird Readers series is a grading of reading books for children aged 3-11 who are learning English as a foreign or second language. The series includes traditional fairy tales, beloved characters, modern stories, and non-fiction.

"On the Farm," a level 1 reading, is Pre-A1 within the CEFR framework and includes practice for the Cambridge English Pre-A1 Starters exams. The short sentences contain a maximum of two clauses, using the present tense and some simple pronouns.
