The story follows a father and his son, who are census takers traveling through an unknown country from town A to town Z, after the father's terminal diagnosis. Knowing that his time is limited, the father takes his son, who requires close and continuous guidance, on this indefinitely long journey. Their emotions are challenged and intensified as they navigate various homes, meeting different people. Census is about the ways in which people react to the son's condition, as well as the son as an individual in the world.
