Description

The Philosophy of True Sound

The Yamaha R-N800A embodies the concept of "True Sound," a promise that only Yamaha can deliver by controlling the process from sound creation to final playback. With this amplifier, the music experience goes beyond mere listening. By closing their eyes, the listener can feel the presence of the artist in the room, experiencing the intensity and depth of every musical performance with absolute naturalness.

Advanced YPAO and R.S.C. Calibration

The ideal acoustics of a space are now achieved without tedious manual adjustments, thanks to YPAO (Yamaha Parametric Room Acoustic Optimizer) technology. The system features precision EQ with 192 kHz / 64 bit resolution, while the Reflected Sound Control (R.S.C.) function analyzes the layout and materials of your walls. The result is sound perfectly tailored to your room, correcting unwanted reflections for an immersive experience.

ToP-ART Technology and Anti-Vibration Protection

Based on a 60-year legacy, the R-N800A uses the ToP-ART (Total Purity Audio Reproduction Technology) design. This architecture ensures signal integrity through a symmetrical circuit layout and an ultra-low vibration chassis. Additionally, the special Anti-Resonance feet absorb any external vibration, ensuring that the sound remains focused, clear, and with maximum playback accuracy.

Digital Excellence with DAC SABRE ES9080Q

At the heart of digital processing lies the world-class DAC SABRE ES9080Q from ESS Technology. With processing capability of 384 kHz / 32-bit, it offers top signal-to-noise (S/N) performance, reproducing high-resolution audio files with incredible coherence and detail. Every instrument and vocal is rendered with the correct tonal balance, preserving the full harmony of the original musical work.

Modern Connectivity and Premium Materials

The R-N800A combines retro HiFi charm with modern needs, supporting all popular streaming services and high-resolution sources. The use of high-quality components and capacitors ensures that the amplifier will perform at its best even under the most demanding operating conditions. It is a complete entertainment hub that maximizes the value of your system, offering timeless reliability and top-notch aesthetics.

    Yamaha ultimate guarantee
You understand how an amplifier under 1000 euros outperforms many other so-called high-end companies priced at 1500 plus euros.
Excellent build quality, sturdy construction, quality components, and of course, sound performance.
Anyone looking for a network amplifier with DAC and streaming under 1000 euros should buy it without a second thought

This review is about a variation of the product

I bought it to replace the simple Yamaha RS201 again. Huge difference.
I use it with the B & W DM602 S3 pair. Very clean and detailed sound, I rediscover music. I also added the 600 series subwoofer as a 2.1 setup, but the bass is so intense overall that I use it at 5~10% of its power or even not at all.
Very good build quality and many functions. You can control it from your mobile phone, it plays Spotify, radio, internet radio (much better sound than analog radio), and generally everything good. I couldn't listen to digital DAB radio, I don't know why, I didn't really search for it since I listen to it from the internet.
It has a screen on the bottom of the front panel. Small but provides some information. The rest is on the mobile phone.
It comes with a small microphone in the package. You open the appropriate setting, place the microphone where you listen to music, and it adjusts the equalizer on its own. I liked the result.
As for the DAC, which means connecting the PC via USB and playing music, it works well on Windows 10 and 11 only (I don't know about MAC and Linux). I consider the sound to be slightly better than what I had with the Cambridge Audio DacMagic 100 DAC. I thought I would get something more.
With a NAS network hard drive, you can have direct access to the digital music library without a computer. You can create up to 5 playlists.
    Overall, I am very satisfied.
