Cleaning and maintenance of instruments

• Clean and lubricate new tools before the first sterilization.
• After use, disinfect, clean, lubricate, and sterilize the instruments as soon as possible.
• Instruments should be disinfected chemothermally, thermally, or immersed in a disinfectant and cleaning solution.
• Delicate tools can also be sterilized in a chamber with ultraviolet radiation.
• They should be rinsed very carefully after cleaning, preferably with deionized water.
• Ensure they are thoroughly dried after washing.
• When lubrication is needed, use only a lubricant based on mineral oil.
• Strictly follow the sterilization instructions provided by the manufacturer of the sterilizer.
• If sterilization with hot air is applied, the temperature must exceed 180 degrees Celsius.
