In "Werkstatt C1," we have chosen to integrate the Student Book and the Workbook into a single volume.

The Student Book section familiarizes the student with the new - from 2024 - format of the modular examination, teaches the best strategies for solving all exercises, and prepares them - through a total of ten complete tests - for the exam. The selected texts and topics from all four Modules of the exam fully cover the official syllabus of level C1. A glance at the topic overview makes this clear. The vocabulary used in the texts and exercises has been chosen very meticulously, based on the exam descriptions and aligned with the appropriate vocabulary for the C1 level.

The texts (written and audio) in the Student Book are reused in the Workbook to cover the curriculum of the level. This not only saves time, but it also exposes students to the same topics and vocabulary repeatedly, so they can deeply internalize the material for C1 level. Special emphasis is placed on vocabulary, which is the central focus at this level, and there are very specific and carefully selected repetitions in grammar. Additionally, the Workbook pages include useful supportive language material (vocabulary and phrases) for the SCHREIBEN and SPRECHEN Modules, as a little help for anyone who needs support while working on the respective topics.

In short: the combination of the Student Book and the Workbook covers the work that needs to be done in any C1 section, including exam preparation, and that completely. Thus, the traditional combination of a Basic book and additional Exam Preparation becomes unnecessary. The solutions to all exercises, both from the Student Book and the Workbook, are included in the Teacher's Edition.
