In "Werkstatt C1," we chose to integrate the Student's Book and the Workbook into one volume.

The Student's Book section familiarizes the student with the new format of the modular exam, effective from 2024, teaches the best strategies for solving all exercises, and prepares them – through a total of ten complete tests – for the exam. The selected texts and topics from all four Modules of the exam comprehensively cover the official subject matter of the C1 level. A glance at the overview of topics makes this clear.

The vocabulary used in the texts and exercises has been selected with great care, based on the exam descriptions, and aligns with the appropriate vocabulary for the C1 level. The texts (written and audio) from the Student's Book are reused in the Workbook to cover the curriculum of the level. This not only saves time but also exposes students to the same topics and vocabulary repeatedly, allowing them to deeply internalize the material of the C1 level.

Particular emphasis is placed on vocabulary, which is the central focus at this level, and grammar repetitions are very specific and carefully selected. Additionally, useful supportive linguistic material (vocabulary and expressions) for the SCHREIBEN and SPRECHEN Modules is included on the pages of the Workbook, serving as a small aid for anyone who needs support when dealing with the respective topics.

In short: the combination of the Student's Book and the Workbook covers the work that needs to be done in any C1 class, including exam preparation, and in its entirety. Thus, the traditional combination of a Main Book and additional Exam Preparation becomes unnecessary.
