The Graduated ND 10 filter balances the exposure between the brighter and darker areas of the frame, allowing for better tones and details to be captured in these regions of the image.
The Hoya Graduated ND 10 filter is darker at the top, providing a three-stop light reduction in that area, and then gradually transitions to a one-stop light reduction at the bottom. This creates a balanced exposure between the light and dark areas of a scene, particularly useful for photographs that include the sky.
The aluminum frame rotates so that the darker area can be positioned as needed.
The Graduated ND 10 uses very clear optical glass from Hoya along with an ND filter to create the graduated ND effect.
ND filters are designed to reduce the amount of light entering your camera's lens and have no other effect on the image. Reducing the amount of light allows for the use of wider aperture settings or slower shutter speeds for creative and dramatic effects in bright lighting conditions.
