The AE109² is designed to offer comfortable, full performance from a slim floor-standing speaker, similar to that of the world-renowned original AE109 from 20 years ago. For this purpose, two 130mm paper woofers with an ultra-high power motor are used in conjunction with a 25mm soft dome tweeter. The 2.5-way crossover features a unique topology that allows for integration and power handling previously not achievable from this type of speaker. Special attention has been given to phase and time alignment for the most coherent performance possible. Like the AE100², the driver and crossover are housed within a significant 15mm HDF cabinet that draws stylistic influences from the award-winning 500 series. The result is an audio product with clean and sleek lines that can still deliver the exciting and powerful presentation that Acoustic Energy owners expect.
