Harnessing the energy of the forge worlds in their distinctive weapons, Skitarii Rangers are relentless and tireless hunter-killers. For them, a battle is not over until the enemy has been annihilated – even if that means pursuing them across other galaxies for decades.
Distinguished by their hoods and rebreather masks, Skitarii Rangers stalk their prey armed with galvanic rifles. Each soldier is clad in the heavy, industrial-style battle armour of the Skitarii, bearing the Adeptus Mechanicus insignia and festooned with data-gathering sensors, aerials and environmental monitoring devices. Given Mars’s inhospitable terrain, their legs have been replaced below the knee with bionic limbs, giving each model a sense of cold, cybernetic augmentation.
The unit can include an Alpha, armed with either a radium pistol or an arc pistol, as well as a melee weapon (power sword, taser goad or arc maul). In addition, three models can carry special weapons: a transuranic arquebus, an arc rifle and a plasma caliver are available (the latter comes with a special head and backpack). One model can be assembled as an Alpha equipped with either an enhanced data-tether or an omnispex – the box faithfully captures the Adeptus Mechanicus’s obsession with data collection.
This multi-part plastic kit contains everything needed to assemble either ten Skitarii Rangers or ten Skitarii Vanguard. The box contains 124 components: twenty-three heads (eleven of which are for Skitarii Rangers), twenty-five weapons, a small transfer sheet, one Citadel 60x35.5mm oval base and ten Citadel 25mm round bases.
