Asterix, Obelix, and the villagers are interrupted by the sudden arrival of Gudurix, who seeks help. He reveals that his father, Oceanonix, has been imprisoned for a theft he did not commit. The Eagle of Lutetia, the precious golden emblem of the Roman legions, has just been stolen and an innocent man has been thrown into prison! Asterix promises to investigate and asks Gudurix to stay safe in the village. The two Gallic warriors travel to Lutetia to gather information from an acquaintance known for their knowledge of the city's rumors and intrigues. And obviously, they will find their answers during their long journey with powerful slaps!
