With these words, Sherlock Holmes describes to his friend and chronicler, Dr. Watson, the nature of his work. And from this characteristic phrase comes the title of the book.

This is the novel by Arthur Conan Doyle where the iconic detective first appears, and we are introduced to Dr. Watson, who narrates the way they met and their decision to live together in the famous apartment on Baker Street.

However, the most important thing is that here, page by page, the method of induction and analysis unfolds, which is the hallmark of Sherlock Holmes.

In A Study in Scarlet, he is called to solve the mystery surrounding a corpse found in an abandoned house in London, with the word RACHE written in blood on the wall. What seems complicated to others is merely an exercise in observation for Sherlock Holmes, leading to the solution of the riddle.
