The Nikon Monarch HG 8x30 binoculars offer 8x magnification and a wide field of view, with a sharp image from edge to edge thanks to the field-flattener lens system. ED glass corrects chromatic aberration, enhancing contrast, resolution and natural color reproduction. The lenses and prisms have multilayer coatings for improved light transmission, while the roof prism features a highly reflective dielectric multilayer coating.

The magnesium alloy body is lightweight and durable, while the lens coating is scratch-resistant. The binoculars are nitrogen-filled and waterproof to a depth of up to 5 m for 10 minutes, while internal fogging is prevented up to an altitude of 5,000 m. The turn-and-slide rubber eyecups adjust for comfortable viewing, even while wearing glasses, and the diopter adjustment ring features a locking mechanism. The integrated objective lens caps remain attached to the binoculars.
