Description

Description

The Intel Core i5-14600K processor is primarily aimed at users seeking high performance for multi-threaded applications and gaming. It is a particularly interesting member of the Raptor Lake Refresh series, as it offers an improved core configuration.

Specifically, the Core i5-14600K features 6 P-cores and 8 E-cores (20 threads), thus providing increased performance in multi-threaded applications. Additionally, it has higher operating frequencies, reaching up to 5.3 GHz with two or fewer active cores.

Comparison with the Previous Generation

The Raptor Lake (14th Gen) provides support for Thunderbolt 4 and Intel Wi-Fi 7 (5 Gig), compared to the Raptor Lake (13th Gen) with Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6/6E.

Intel's hybrid architecture is designed to leverage the most advanced technologies at the platform level, such as DDR5 memory type and PCIe Gen.5 standard. Thus, the specialized and integrated controllers in the processor offer support for DDR5 memory speeds up to 5,600MT/s and the PCIe Gen.5 standard (a total of 16x lanes PCIe 5.0 and 4x lanes PCIe 4.0 are supported).

Designed for the needs of today's gamers

The new optimized hybrid architecture and cutting-edge technology allow you to go beyond gaming and creation. From progress in gaming to progress in real life, Intel enables you to be your best self.

  • Performance-cores - Unleashes the capability to optimize the latest games and gaming software.
  • Efficient-cores - Provides multitasking power to work, play, and most importantly, play together.

Overclock with ease

Customize your performance to meet your exact needs with the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility.

Smarter Gaming

The expanded Intel Smart Cache sizes accelerate your processor for stable gameplay and higher, more consistent FPS.

Unleash Your Imagination

  • The hybrid performance architecture can easily run background streaming software while prioritizing gaming.
  • Intel Thread Director dynamically assigns tasks, so you can do it all without slowing down.

  • Excellent processor, I bought it a little while ago. No lag in games or in editing programs, for example I use After Effects. Temperature is fine with air cooling, because many say that it needs water cooling etc., that's not true, air covers it just fine. I don't know how it performs in heavier programs than After Effects to be honest, but so far it doesn't seem to be lacking anywhere for me at the moment

  • A processor with which you can do EVERYTHING! It is known to have temperature spikes so it needs monitoring. Other than that, it is delightful!

I tried the integrated graphics and for games like Bioshock 1-2 it runs them perfectly at 75+ FPS.... now, since I set up the PC yesterday and was really scared by such high temperatures (coming from an R5 5600) I stayed up all night and managed, by changing CPU LITE LOAD from 22 (which is stock) to below 10, and now it doesn't exceed 83°C (was 100°C+ before) with even better scores in r23, 23000+ (on an MSI B760 Gaming Plus WiFi DDR4).

Let me point out that initially, the latest BIOS update and ME firmware were done!!!!!!!

Now, I didn't look into it further due to lack of time... but are such temperatures normal??? For example, how could someone who doesn't even know what BIOS is be safe choosing this processor or an even higher one (i7-i9)?

This review is about the packaging: Tray

The processor is a beast! It outperforms previous generation i9 and i7. Of course, it's not that cheap, but it's not that expensive either! For the power it offers, it's value for money! 14 cores for multitasking is an advantage, while the 6 of them that are for the heavy stuff (editing) are beasts with synchronization at 5.3 GHz. The processor doesn't lag anywhere, it can also handle 196 GB of RAM! Anyone who uses Adobe and editing programs in general, but also wants to play games, this is the ideal processor. As I said, it's not that cheap, but if you want power and multitasking without spending a fortune, it's just what you need!

    Excellent in terms of performance.
It requires a relatively good cooler.
For gaming and multitasking, incredible performance with the e-cores handling background tasks.
It is advisable to upgrade to the latest BIOS version of the motherboard on which it will be installed, in order to resolve the issues that existed with high voltages in Intel 13th / 14th gen.
After the recent events, Intel offers a 5-year warranty.

The processor is excellent. It is generally warm, so it needs good cooling; otherwise, it will raise the temperature. I have the Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360. It would also be good to have settings for the PL and an undervolt.

Coming from an i7 7700K for a full 7 years, it's like going from a Fiat Uno to a Porsche 911 Turbo!!! No matter how hard you push it, it smiles and doesn't stutter anywhere. It uses a Noctua NH-U12A for cooling, keeping it steadily between 45 and 55 degrees in September, while in the summer I saw it reach 65 with the windows open and over 35 degrees. I chose it because the 14900K and 14700K require liquid cooling, and I'm not a fan of that.

I come from an i5 4670 and I can't believe how fast and powerful processors have become. With a deepcool assassin 4 cooler to keep it cool, I have perfect performance at temperatures below 65 degrees. I haven't overclocked it since I don't need to for gaming. It is very powerful and very stable.

It is the ideal processor for casual gamers and with the right graphics card along with what you pay, it is truly a beast. WARNING, in order to fully enjoy the capabilities of the K series processors (overclocking), it must be installed on a motherboard with a Z series chipset (Z690, Z790) from Intel. On a different type of motherboard, you will have paid for something that will almost malfunction.

The processor is excellent. It runs a bit warm but with adjustment to the lowest PL it doesn't exceed 180-190 watts in Cinebench and behaves decently. Make sure you have good cooling. I have the Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360 and it keeps it at good levels. In-game its consumption is low. It might be overkill for most cases, because it's very powerful, but if you're passionate about it I recommend it.

Edit: With a negative offset you can get good undervolting. With the ASRock Nova I'm running it at about 132 watts and the temperatures are superb! At its current price it's insane value! I bought it 120 euros more expensive!
