Description

Description

The Intel Core i7-14700KF processor is primarily aimed at users seeking high performance for multi-threaded applications and gaming. It is a particularly interesting member of the Raptor Lake Refresh series, as it offers an improved core configuration.

Specifically, the Core i7-14700KF features 8 P-cores and 12 E-cores (28 threads), thus providing increased performance in multi-threaded applications. Additionally, it has higher operating frequencies, reaching up to 5.6 GHz with two or fewer active cores.

Comparison with the Previous Generation

The Raptor Lake (14th Gen) provides support for Thunderbolt 4 and Intel Wi-Fi 7 (5 Gig), compared to the Raptor Lake (13th Gen) with Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6/6E.

Intel's hybrid architecture is designed to leverage the most advanced technologies at the platform level, such as DDR5 memory type and PCIe Gen.5 standard. Thus, the specialized and integrated controllers in the processor offer support for DDR5 memory speeds up to 5,600MT/s and the PCIe Gen.5 standard (a total of 16x lanes PCIe 5.0 and 4x lanes PCIe 4.0 are supported).

Designed for the needs of today's gamers

The new optimized hybrid architecture and cutting-edge technology allow you to go beyond gaming and creation. From progress in gaming to progress in real life, Intel enables you to be your best self.

  • Performance-cores - Unleashes the capability to optimize the latest games and gaming software.
  • Efficient-cores - Provides multitasking power to work, play, and most importantly, play together.

Overclock with ease

Customize your performance to meet your exact needs with the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility.

Smarter Gaming

The expanded Intel Smart Cache sizes accelerate your processor for stable gameplay and higher, more consistent FPS.

Unleash Your Imagination

  • The hybrid performance architecture can easily run background streaming software while prioritizing gaming.
  • Intel Thread Director dynamically assigns tasks, so you can do it all without slowing down.

The processor is power and hasnt caused me any issues so far.

The only note that i would give to people is, if you are considering pairing it with an AIO water cooling system, go above 240mm radiator. I mine is of that size and i believe it barely is able to dissipate the thermal load.

Quite a good processor, just because of the 150 watts it can reach, it generally raises temperatures. It would be good if you have water cooling to be 360 and to definitely be intake and not exhaust.

The best value for money for multitasking & gaming.
Buy without hesitation in combination with liquid cooling always!
The problems that existed in the past have been overcome with the BIOS updates that are now available for all motherboards.

I have had it for a year, with a Z790 Aorus Elite AX motherboard and an RTX 4070 ti GPU. It has not presented any of the issues mentioned. I have not done any undervolting. I do not have any strange noises (coil whine, etc.). For all the games I have tried, the settings are on ultra and high. It is indeed a powerful processor. I believe that to perform properly without issues, it needs a good motherboard, good air cooling, if not liquid cooling. I cool it with a Noctua NH-D15S with a dual fan. I have not seen temperatures above 78 degrees so far. A case with very good airflow. Finally, a quality power supply. I use a Seasonic Vertex PX-850w platinum. I would consider it VFM at a price of 300-350€. If you want more economical components (m/b, gpu, psu), get another model, e.g., a 14600, it meets the needs of 98% of users or some AMD

This CPU is probably one the worst CPUs I have ever bought. First of all before doing anything you need to update your BIOS to a higher version because of intel’s bug that makes the CPU draw 100% power. Then plaster you do that I would suggest watching a video on how to undervolt it. About 4 days of searching and wasting my time to fix something that a billion dollar company can’t fix.

  • The only negative is that it requires a 280mm or larger liquid cooling, but in terms of performance it is top-notch without a doubt.

I have had it in my possession for about 10 days. Fast everywhere, whatever I do! Combined with the RTX 4070 super, it flies in games. In 4K resolution, everything is set to ULTRA. The highest temperature I have seen is 68C. I have, of course, water cooling for it. Buy without fear!

Very powerful processor. Bought exclusively for rendering and CAD design. Keep in mind that it requires very good cooling. As for rendering, where the processor works at 100% even though there is liquid cooling, the processor reached 100 degrees. I reduced the wattage of the processor a bit and at 100% usage it reaches 80 degrees, maintaining 90-95% of the processor's power

Don't listen to the tech-tubers. The 14th generation is on a different node. No comparison in temperatures with the 13700 that I changed. The 14700 hits 300w at 85 degrees, the 13700 had reached 100 degrees at 260w. For the competitive-upgraders, a processor that will not disappoint anywhere and never.
