Antenna Replacement

Its wifi is awesome. It was set up as an access point that received signal from another 4G router (better one) to provide wifi to 3 wireless cameras. At the exact same spot before I had a tplink that they say is for 200 meters with line of sight. The tplink in the same spot had 1 to 2 bars of signal and sometimes one camera would lose it at 100 meters. With this one at 100 meters it had full signal, 4 bars. I haven't tried the LTE section with a SIM card yet. PS. This router is aimed at knowledgeable users. It is not enough to roughly set the antenna orientation and everything is fine. There are 4-5 signal parameters in its menu and based on these we need to turn the antenna for maximum signal. As well as check which bands it locks onto automatically and, if needed, make a manual change.

Quick and easy installation. Very good internet speed. The only "negative" is the mounting base. Installation with it is very difficult. I used a corner bracket for a TV antenna and everything was fine.

There’s a trick when you insert the card for the first time: you must first put the card in a mobile phone, disable the password requirement, and then put it in the device. This isn’t a problem with the device, but rather how SIM cards are issued, mainly intended for phones and only secondarily for such devices. Otherwise, it worked well. We use it in a village with a Vodafone SIM card. It was a bit difficult to set up, but we figured it out. We have it indoors in a 100sqm house and it gets excellent signal, even though the house is stone-built and it's usually hard to get phone reception there. We are very satisfied.

The distance from the transmission antenna is approximately 800 meters. It was installed on my roof (single-family home). There are taller buildings that obstruct direct contact. With a LAN connection, it performs about as shown in the photo. In live streaming, it has some stutters. It's worth it for someone who doesn't want the sky with stars. Incompatibilities: Refuses to work with Intel's AX201 WiFi chipset (also known as Tiger Lake PCH CNVi WiFi) found in many laptops with Intel processors. Yes, it connects to its WiFi network but no data is transferred through it.
It does not work from either Linux or Windows. Tested both from my laptop and from a Mini PC with the same chip.
The same problem exists with Xiaomi's MiBox.
The problem has been reported to Cudy's "support," without any response, not even a token one.
The problem can be solved with a USB WiFi or Range Extender, but this is not the optimal solution for everyone.
WiFi Signal: Also, the WiFi connection is very weak. Its WiFi antennas are 2xMIMO and are located internally (the antennas you see are for 4G), resulting in poor coverage, considering it is intended for outdoor use. If you want to cover your house and have installed it on a pole on the roof, you may have a problem. This problem can also be solved with a Range Extender, or by running the UTP cable to a router inside the house and using the internal router's WiFi.
4G Signal: Finally, if there is no line of sight with the mobile antenna, its antennas do almost nothing, despite the stated 5dbi gain. It has slightly better signal quality with the mobile phone (and the phone is not on a pole!).
Management: Otherwise, excellent management interface. Much better than what you would expect for the price. If only it did well what it is bought for....
Edit after almost 2 years of use:
Despite all its disadvantages, for the money it costs, it is a workhorse. It withstands the rains and humidity of Western Central Greece and doesn't flinch.
If you want it for a country house, it really is value for money!
Ασυμβατότητες: Αρνείται να συνεργαστεί με το WiFi chipset ΑΧ201 της Intel (γνωστό και ως Tiger Lake PCH CNVi WiFi) που έχουν πολλά laptops με Intel επεξεργαστή. Ναι μεν γίνεται σύνδεση στο WiFi δίκτυό του αλλά δεν μεταφέρονται δεδομένα από αυτό.
Δεν λειτουργεί ούτε από Linux, ούτε από Windows. Δοκιμασμένο τόσο από το laptop μου όσο και από Mini PC με το ίδιο chip.
Το ίδιο πρόβλημα έχει και το MiBox της Xiaomi.
Το πρόβλημα έχει σταλεί στην "υποστήριξη" της Cudy, χωρίς κάποια απάντηση, έστω "για τα μάτια του κόσμου".
Λύνεται μεν το πρόβλημα, με κάποιο USB WiFi ή Range Extender, αλλά δεν είναι και η βέλτιστη τακτική για όλους.
Σήμα WiFi: Επίσης, η σύνδεση WiFi είναι πολύ ασθενής. Οι κεραίες WiFi του είναι 2xMIMO και βρίσκονται εσωτερικά (οι κεραίες που βλέπετε είναι για 4G) με αποτέλεσμα κακή κάλυψη, δεδομένου ότι προορίζεται για εξωτερική χρήση. Αν θέλετε να καλύψετε το σπίτι σας και το έχετε εγκαταστήσει σε ιστό στην ταράτσα, πιθανόν να έχετε πρόβλημα. Επίσης λύνεται το πρόβλημα με Range Extender, η μεταφέροντας το UTP καλώδιο σε router μέσα στο σπίτι και χρησιμοποιώντας το WiFi του εσωτερικού router.
Σήμα 4G: Τέλος αν δεν υπάρχει οπτική επαφή με την κεραία κινητής, οι κεραίες του δεν κάνουν σχεδόν τίποτα, παρά την αναφερόμενη απολαβή των 5dbi. Έχει ελαφρά καλύτερη ποιότητα σήματος με το κινητό (και το κινητό δεν βρίσκεται σε ιστό!).
Διαχειριστικό: Κατά τ'άλλα, εξαιρετικό περιβάλλον διαχείρισης. Πολύ ανώτερο για τα λεφτά που ζητάει. Αν έκανε και καλά αυτό για το οποίο αγοράζεται....

Τελικά παρόλα τα μειονεκτήματά του, για τα λεφτά που ζητάει είναι σκυλί του πολέμου. Το τρώνε οι βροχές και η υγρασία της Δυτικής Στερεάς Ελλάδας και δεν καταλαβαίνει τίποτα.
Αν το θέλετε για εξοχικό, πραγματικά είναι value for money!
For its price, it is incredible.
Very easy installation, fit perfectly to help the adsl that reaches 4-5 Mbps.
With Cosmote unlimited sim, the only thing I needed to change was the APN to vpn-internet to get a public IP.
Consistently we have 20-25+ Mbps. The mobile antenna is 2.6 km away.
The menu is incredible and VERY COMPREHENSIVE.
The built-in wireguard worked with 5 clicks.
Overall, I highly recommend it, especially for entry-level users.

We use it in a village with a Vodafone SIM card. It was a bit difficult to set up, but we figured it out. We have it indoors in a 100sqm house and it gets excellent signal, even though the house is stone-built and it's usually hard to get phone reception there. We are very satisfied.

Incompatibilities: Refuses to work with Intel's AX201 WiFi chipset (also known as Tiger Lake PCH CNVi WiFi) found in many laptops with Intel processors. Yes, it connects to its WiFi network but no data is transferred through it.
It does not work from either Linux or Windows. Tested both from my laptop and from a Mini PC with the same chip.
The same problem exists with Xiaomi's MiBox.
The problem has been reported to Cudy's "support," without any response, not even a token one.
The problem can be solved with a USB WiFi or Range Extender, but this is not the optimal solution for everyone.
WiFi Signal: Also, the WiFi connection is very weak. Its WiFi antennas are 2xMIMO and are located internally (the antennas you see are for 4G), resulting in poor coverage, considering it is intended for outdoor use. If you want to cover your house and have installed it on a pole on the roof, you may have a problem. This problem can also be solved with a Range Extender, or by running the UTP cable to a router inside the house and using the internal router's WiFi.
4G Signal: Finally, if there is no line of sight with the mobile antenna, its antennas do almost nothing, despite the stated 5dbi gain. It has slightly better signal quality with the mobile phone (and the phone is not on a pole!).
Management: Otherwise, excellent management interface. Much better than what you would expect for the price. If only it did well what it is bought for....

Despite all its disadvantages, for the money it costs, it is a workhorse. It withstands the rains and humidity of Western Central Greece and doesn't flinch.
If you want it for a country house, it really is value for money!
Ασυμβατότητες: Αρνείται να συνεργαστεί με το WiFi chipset ΑΧ201 της Intel (γνωστό και ως Tiger Lake PCH CNVi WiFi) που έχουν πολλά laptops με Intel επεξεργαστή. Ναι μεν γίνεται σύνδεση στο WiFi δίκτυό του αλλά δεν μεταφέρονται δεδομένα από αυτό.
Δεν λειτουργεί ούτε από Linux, ούτε από Windows. Δοκιμασμένο τόσο από το laptop μου όσο και από Mini PC με το ίδιο chip.
Το ίδιο πρόβλημα έχει και το MiBox της Xiaomi.
Το πρόβλημα έχει σταλεί στην "υποστήριξη" της Cudy, χωρίς κάποια απάντηση, έστω "για τα μάτια του κόσμου".
Λύνεται μεν το πρόβλημα, με κάποιο USB WiFi ή Range Extender, αλλά δεν είναι και η βέλτιστη τακτική για όλους.
Σήμα WiFi: Επίσης, η σύνδεση WiFi είναι πολύ ασθενής. Οι κεραίες WiFi του είναι 2xMIMO και βρίσκονται εσωτερικά (οι κεραίες που βλέπετε είναι για 4G) με αποτέλεσμα κακή κάλυψη, δεδομένου ότι προορίζεται για εξωτερική χρήση. Αν θέλετε να καλύψετε το σπίτι σας και το έχετε εγκαταστήσει σε ιστό στην ταράτσα, πιθανόν να έχετε πρόβλημα. Επίσης λύνεται το πρόβλημα με Range Extender, η μεταφέροντας το UTP καλώδιο σε router μέσα στο σπίτι και χρησιμοποιώντας το WiFi του εσωτερικού router.
Σήμα 4G: Τέλος αν δεν υπάρχει οπτική επαφή με την κεραία κινητής, οι κεραίες του δεν κάνουν σχεδόν τίποτα, παρά την αναφερόμενη απολαβή των 5dbi. Έχει ελαφρά καλύτερη ποιότητα σήματος με το κινητό (και το κινητό δεν βρίσκεται σε ιστό!).
Διαχειριστικό: Κατά τ'άλλα, εξαιρετικό περιβάλλον διαχείρισης. Πολύ ανώτερο για τα λεφτά που ζητάει. Αν έκανε και καλά αυτό για το οποίο αγοράζεται....
Edit μετά από σχεδόν 2 χρόνια χρήσης:
Τελικά παρόλα τα μειονεκτήματά του, για τα λεφτά που ζητάει είναι σκυλί του πολέμου. Το τρώνε οι βροχές και η υγρασία της Δυτικής Στερεάς Ελλάδας και δεν καταλαβαίνει τίποτα.
Αν το θέλετε για εξοχικό, πραγματικά είναι value for money!
For its price, it is incredible.
Very easy installation, fit perfectly to help the adsl that reaches 4-5 Mbps.
With Cosmote unlimited sim, the only thing I needed to change was the APN to vpn-internet to get a public IP.
Consistently we have 20-25+ Mbps. The mobile antenna is 2.6 km away.
The menu is incredible and VERY COMPREHENSIVE.
The built-in wireguard worked with 5 clicks.
Overall, I highly recommend it, especially for entry-level users.

I got it to help with slow internet at work, in combination with a load balance, it does the job, considering that 4G is not a stable network.

Its wifi is awesome. It was set up as an access point that received signal from another 4G router (better one) to provide wifi to 3 wireless cameras. At the exact same spot before I had a tplink that they say is for 200 meters with line of sight. The tplink in the same spot had 1 to 2 bars of signal and sometimes one camera would lose it at 100 meters. With this one at 100 meters it had full signal, 4 bars. I haven't tried the LTE section with a SIM card yet. PS. This router is aimed at knowledgeable users. It is not enough to roughly set the antenna orientation and everything is fine. There are 4-5 signal parameters in its menu and based on these we need to turn the antenna for maximum signal. As well as check which bands it locks onto automatically and, if needed, make a manual change.
Το wifi του τα σπάει. Μπήκε σαν acsses point που πήρε σήμα από άλλο router 4G (ανώτερο) για να δώσω wifi σε 3 ασύρματες κάμερες. Στην ίδια ακριβός θέση πριν είχα ενα tplink που το δίνουν για 200 μέτρα με οπτική επαφή. Το tplink στο ιδιο σημείο ειχε 1 με 2 γραμμές σημα και μερικές φορές το έχανε μια κάμερα στα 100 μέτρα. Με αυτό στα 100 μέτρα είχε σήμα φουλ 4 γραμμές. Το τμήμα του LTE με κάρτα δεν το εχω δοκιμάσει ακόμα. ΥΣ. Το router αυτό απευθύνετε σε γνώστες. Δεν φτάνει το να βάλουμε στο περίπου τον προσανατολισμό της και ολα καλά. Υπάρχουν 4-5 παράμετροι σήματος στο μενού του και βάση αυτών πρέπει να γυρίσουμε την κεραία για μέγιστο σήμα. Καθώς και να τσεκάρουμε σε ποιες μπάντες κλειδώνει αυτόματα και αν χρειαστεί να γίνει αλλαγή manual.
Quick and easy installation. Very good internet speed. The only "negative" is the mounting base. Installation with it is very difficult. I used a corner bracket for a TV antenna and everything was fine.

There’s a trick when you insert the card for the first time: you must first put the card in a mobile phone, disable the password requirement, and then put it in the device. Το πήρα για καλύτερο σήμα στο εξοχικό. θέλει ένα κόλπο όταν τοποθετείς κάρτα πρώτη φορά: πρέπει πρώτα να βάλεις στην κάρτα σε ένα κινητό, να ακυρώσεις την απαίτηση να έχει password, και μετά να τη βάλεις τη συσκευή. I bought it for use in a village with a SIM card. Unfortunately, at least for me, it didn't work. In almost no spot did it provide internet. With the SIM in my phone I had much better signal, so for me the purchase had no value.
Το πήρα για χρήση σε χωριό με κάρτα sim. Δυστυχώς τουλάχιστον για εμένα δε δούλεψε. Σχεδόν σε κανένα σημείο δεν έδινε internet. Με τη sim στο κινητό είχα κατά πολύ καλύτερο σήμα οπότε για εμένα δεν είχε καμία αξία η αγορά του.
