    As soon as you open the package, you are immediately hit by the characteristic smell of synthetic material. I followed the manufacturer's instructions (in very small print) for 6 boils of water before use. No improvement. When cleaning the inside with kitchen paper, I found that every time it would come out black!! I suspect that some connecting material between the plastic/metal parts was "burning." Thanks to Skroutz, I returned it back.
