The MC200CM is a media converter designed to convert 1000BASE-SX fiber optics to 1000Base-T copper or vice versa. Designed according to the IEEE802.3ab 1000Base-T and IEEE802.3z 1000Base-SX standards, the MC200CM is suitable for use with multi-mode fiber optic cable using SC-Type connectors. The MC200CM supports the short wavelength laser (SX) specification with full transmission speed. It operates at 850nm for both transmitting and receiving data.

Other features of this model include the ability to be used as a standalone device (no chassis requirement) or with the TP-Link TL-MC1400 chassis, Auto MDI/MDI-X for the TX port, and status LEDs on the front panel. The MC200CM will transmit over long distances of fiber optics using multi-mode fiber up to 0.55 kilometers.
