So, I have to start with the fact that these headphones are definitely not for everyone. I own various headphones, in their category the AirPods Max and the Sony XM5. The AirPods Max and the Sony are not "bad," but the sound of the Focal Bathys is definitely miles ahead in any objective and subjective parameter. So if you are someone who puts a huge emphasis on sound like I do, they are more than worth it as they might be the best sounding BT headphones in the world. They are very comfortable, at least for me (I had a big problem with the AirPods Max), they have high-quality construction and are easy to use whether with BT, USB-C, or the 3.5 cable, all of which are included along with a very good storage case. However, you should be aware that if you really care about features like ANC and transparency, they are definitely not at the level of the APM, XM5/XM6, Bose QuietComfort, etc. Personally, this hasn't bothered me at all, except on a flight where I did feel that the ANC was somewhat inadequate. Their sound is magical for a closed-back BT headphone, and I would recommend trying the oratory1990 EQ for these, which takes them to a fantastic level together with the USB-DAC mode.
Personally, I believe that if someone truly cares about sound, has the financial ability, and has needs that such a headphone covers, it's a one-way street. I've had them for about a year and they're still like new without even taking care of them.

They are expensive but worth the money!!

The Focal Bathys cost 725 euros. They belong to the premium category and are obviously not affordable headphones. However, they fully justify their price when you see what the competition offers in the price range of 600-1,000 euros. They are by far the best choice (for example, I should note that the AirPods Max cost almost 600 euros and are ridiculous, the BW PX8 costs 699 euros and is the second choice, and the Mark Levinson 5909 costs about 1,000 euros and have a ridiculous built-in DAC). Nothing less than top-notch aesthetics and top-notch sound!!

These are luxury headphones, of exceptional quality, wonderful design, expensive materials, and stunning acoustic performance!! The famous French Focal - one of the top manufacturers of HiEnd speakers and headphones - which has presented some of the best speakers and headphones in the world (see Utopia) - has once again performed its miracle by creating perhaps the best BT headphones. You can admire, on YouTube, its factory in Saint-Étienne and specifically the company's development department on how its machines are created!! Note: they are made in France. If the budget allows, get them with your eyes closed!!

First quick impressions as they were purchased yesterday and I made the basic settings and a few listens from Apple Music and Tidal: In one word, stunning!! Starting from their construction, which is simply top-notch and meticulously crafted down to the smallest detail, and reaching their music playback which—truly—left me speechless!! They connected with iPhone 15ProMax in all ways, that is, both with BT and with Dac Mode and with 3.5mm jack, all super easy, fast, and problem-free. Their musicality is top-notch and leaves you speechless!! I didn’t have time to "play" with the app. Are they worth the hefty euros they cost??... clearly YES and then some!!... you rediscover music!! If you are in this budget and above, you don’t think about it for a second!! Update No1: I "played" with the app (I found it simple, well-designed, and "to the point") and did the Mimi Hearing Test…. and its usability is essential because the Bathys are set according to your profile (I should note that I also own the AirPods Pro 2 which now function as hearing aids by doing the corresponding hearing test.. I found it very interesting because there are clear similarities). Update No2: They connected with iPad Air M1 in all ways, that is, both with BT, and with Dac Mode and with 3.5mm jack, all super easy, fast, and problem-free (just like with the iPhone 15ProMax) and I downloaded the app on the iPad (you connect to the same account, of course).

After 5 years of using the Bowers+Wilkins series (Px7, Px7 S2, PX8) and Sony's in-ear headphones, I decided to switch gears with the Focal Bathys after reading the various rave reviews available online.

Their response curve and sensitivity were enough to convince me to give them a try.

I believe they are the best I've ever heard in wireless (much better than Apple's or B+O's, which ultimately is Phillips in good packaging) - to the point where one wonders why the reviews aren't more absolute.

In the highs, at certain points they reminded me of the electrostatic Stax SR-Lambda Signature, which is the best I've ever heard, while at the same time in the lows they also have the warmth of B+W.

This is Focal's first attempt at ANC headphones. They are quite good, although not as accurate as the Apple AirPods Max Wireless, but they function very well. Some may be disappointed that their ANC does not stay on permanently. The Bathys are not exclusively for studios and audiophiles seeking flat sound, but they also have a wide range of tweaking options to customize the sound to your liking. They are aptX codec compatible and their sound is more neutral than the bass-friendly Bowers & Wilkins, but with less precise highs compared to the Sennheiser MOMENTUM 4.

Their microphone is decent, but you don't buy such headphones for mobile calls. However, if you happen to make a call, you will sound very good.

They have physical buttons, which is very convenient and does not depend on compatibility with operating systems and applications for their operation.

I read about plastic creaking, but despite not having any exceptional materials, I have not noticed any creaking in the 2 months of using them.
