The plaster bandage turns into a cast when immersed in water for 3–4 minutes. It consists of 17 threads of woven gauze and porous calcium sulfate plaster, which rapidly and evenly absorbs water and takes on a creamy texture. It is easy to mould and apply, with minimal plaster loss during handling.
The cast is safe to transport after 30 minutes and dries completely within 12–24 hours. The recommended water temperature is 20–25 °C.
