Part 2 of Play Guitar requires some basic music knowledge at the beginning and can be used alongside Part 1 after some time. It contains newly arranged and composed materials in a wide variety of styles. Many advanced playing techniques are included, such as slurring, position playing, barre, harmonics, and pizzicato, which are explained in many illustrations. There is also a supplementary chapter on guitar and rhythm, expanding song accompaniment, rhythms, technical exercises, rasgueado, damping, and an overview of chords. All the pieces have been recorded live on the accompanying CD.
