Lens hoods protect your lenses from impacts as well as the creation of flares from light sources that can ruin your image.

This hood is designed for use with integrated or interchangeable SLR lenses that have specific filter threads. It is optimized to provide coverage for lenses that have wide-angle or telephoto zoom capabilities.

Lens hoods are primarily designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens, extending and shading the end of the lens. Additionally, by extending the end of the lens, it also provides extra protection from accidental impacts.
