  • I have had the watch for 1.5 months, and as a first impression regarding its weight, it's absolutely fine—even if it wasn't sapphire, I don't think it would be a problem for someone who cares about the weight of the watch! It is a small computer (coming from a Suunto 9). It has a lot of settings, and you need to be very careful about what extras you add from Connect IQ to its software because it froze on me twice and I was wondering what to do now with such an expensive watch; it's better not to add unnecessary things, whether it's watch faces, music, or anything else. I had to access its files from a PC to delete a problematic watch face. GPS and maps are incredible, it's like having Google Maps on your wrist, immediate response to changes. As for battery, in my opinion, coming from Suunto 9 experience, it's so-so. Exactly two and a half weeks from 100% to 25%, running 5 days the first week, wearing it 4 days while sleeping, so almost all day (it consumes quite a bit at night, around 3-4%). The second week, I didn't wear it while sleeping, again 5 days of running (1 hour each run both weeks). I think it's generally okay. Of course, someone could make it last longer. There are many battery-saving settings. The music feature via Bluetooth is useless, and I wonder why such an expensive watch hasn't fixed this; it constantly cuts out even though I have nothing loaded on the watch, neither watch faces nor anything else. I asked others who had the Fenix 6, and they said the same problem, so if someone needs music through the watch, it's not worth it. Also, the solar version, which I didn't know, doesn't charge the watch; it just slows down the battery drain! As long as it's in the sun, the battery drops much more slowly. Also, if someone is considering the MIP screen versus AMOLED (since I thought a lot about which to get—between this and the Epix, which is the main difference), I would say it's definitely worth it! Even in semi-dark places, you can see very well; it's very good! Finally, the heart rate is very accurate, gets incredibly close to a chest strap, very reliable readings! Overall, as a device, the battery and GPS accuracy are worth it!

I recently received it as a gift and I have to say that I am amazed, the watch is fantastic. I have it in fog gray color, simply exceptional.
