Philip Tsiaras is referred to as the Greek Warhol because of his portraits of Warhol, and he is considered the most prominent Greek-American artist of his generation, as references to his Greek heritage are consistently present in his work.
This motif was also reflected in the exhibition “The Superdot,” which exemplifies the artist's distinctive style, characterized by imbuing meaning into already overexposed famous images. This technique of pointillism mimics light and color and requires the artist to carefully place the dots, a technique that Philip Tsiaras has developed to such a level that his works transcend the medium and engage directly with the viewer, ready to share their story.
This catalog serves as the accompanying publication for the retrospective exhibition held in London from November 30th to December 23rd, 2021.
