Espresso Doppio contains three espresso cups, plates, and spoons in three colors, and your goal during the game is to place and move them on the tablecloth to match the combinations depicted on your mission cards.
To start, shuffle the deck of 16 mission cards and give half to each player, who then reveal three cards face up. Players take turns placing items one at a time on the tablecloth, which has space for five sets. You can mix or match colors as you wish, but two of the same item (plate, cup, spoon) can never be in the same set. On each turn, you can perform 1-3 actions, with one action including moving an item from one set to another or swapping items in one set with items in another set. After performing your actions, you collect coffee beans for any mission cards you can complete, with some cards offering points multiple times if conditions are met.
Once a player has completed all eight cards, players exchange their decks, shuffle them, and reveal three mission cards and continue playing. Once a player completes eight cards in the second phase of the game, the game ends and whoever has collected the most coffee beans is the winner.
